DigiByte secures blocks through five independent proof-of-work algorithms — SHA-256d, Scrypt, Skein, Qubit and Odocrypt. Each targets a different class of specialized mining hardware, and Odocrypt re-randomizes itself every 10 days to keep ASIC dominance off the table. Attacking the chain means attacking five algorithms at once.

How is it different from OAuth or "Sign in with X"?

Traditional single sign-on relies on centralized data brokers. Digi-ID is entirely decentralized. Users authenticate by signing a unique challenge directly from their device, removing third-party servers from the process entirely.

Does it require a cryptocurrency wallet?

No, holding cryptocurrency is optional. While many DigiByte wallets natively support Digi-ID, users can choose to use a standalone authenticator app designed exclusively for secure logins.

DigiDollar

The native, non-custodial stablecoin of DigiByte.

DigiDollar generates USD-pegged liquidity directly on the DigiByte mainnet by locking DGB in on-chain reserves. There is no issuer, no custodian and no admin key — only the same proof-of-work network that has secured DGB since 2014.

Minting and redeeming DigiDollar happens entirely inside the official DigiByte Core wallet, where your DGB is locked in a vault secured by your own keys. There is no other trusted flow, no partner site, no bridge.

Ignore these red flags
  • A site or bot asking you to send DGB to an address to “mint DigiDollar”. Minting never requires sending your DGB to anyone.
  • An app, exchange or “support agent” asking for your seed phrase or private keys. No legitimate service will ever ask for them.

  • Mint only inside DigiByte Core v9.26.4+, where your DGB stays locked in an on-chain vault under your own keys.
  • Only download DigiByte Core from the official GitHub releases, and verify the signed binaries before installing.
How is DigiDollar different from USDT or USDC?

USDT and USDC are IOUs issued by a centralized company that holds off-chain reserves. DigiDollar has no issuer and no custodian. Every unit is backed by DGB time-locked directly on the DigiByte blockchain, and mint/redeem is enforced by consensus rules — not by a company's promise.

What backs the peg and how is the USD price fed on-chain?

Each DigiDollar is backed by time-locked DGB collateral held in on-chain reserves. The USD/DGB price is delivered by a MuSig2 Schnorr oracle roster: multiple independent oracles co-sign each update with a single aggregated Schnorr signature, so the network validates the feed cryptographically without trusting any single publisher.

How do I mint or redeem DigiDollar?

Mint by locking DGB into a DigiDollar reserve output using a DigiDollar-aware wallet or DigiByte Core v9.26.4+. Redeem by burning DigiDollar to unlock the underlying DGB. All operations settle in the next 15-second block — no bridges, no wrappers, no off-chain intermediaries.
